On Tuesday 11th October, Hundreds of spectators gathered to see the demolition of the 93-year-old Broadway Bridge located in Little Rock, Arkansas, but after the explosives were detonated the bridge stood strong for five more hours.

The Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department planted explosives all across the bridge in hope to dismantle it in one clean sweep. That was not the case as after the detonations had erupted the bridge was still standing.
Experts had gathered that the explosion damaged the bridge but it was stuck in a position where it would not fall.
Explosives experts decided to tug and pull the bridge down, they tried in a total of eight times before the bridge gave in and fell five hours after the initial explosion.
