Sword Wielding Robber Attacks Store Owner, Owner Defends With Broom

On Thursday, July 6th, 47-year-old Reginald Francis Lide attempted to rob Time Saver Food & Gas, located in Tallahassee, Florida, the robber attacked the store owner with a sword, the store owner defended himself with a broom handle. 

On Thursday night, Reginald entered the convenience store wielding a 2-foot sword, he pointed his weapon at the store owner and demanded a beer. The store owner denied him his beverage but accepted the duel. the store owner grabbed a broom hand and fought back against the sword-wielding aggressor.

Officers of the Tallahassee Police Department were patrolling the area when they heard some commotion coming from the convenience store, they spotted Reginald outside of the store yelling and pointing his finger towards the store, he then grabbed an object and threw it into the store. The store owner screamed to the police, "stop him!", the police quickly apprehended Reginald. The police located Reginald's alleged weapon inside the store.

Reginald Francis Lide was arrested and charged with Robbery with a weapon, he is being held in Leon County Jail on a $15,000 bond.
